The Activities

Water – Based Activities

Beginner Surfing or Bodyboarding Lesson

Bundoran is famous for good surf conditions, and we are Ireland’s largest surf school. All equipment needed is provided by us- wetsuits, beginner boards, leashes and instructors. You bring swimsuit, towel & toiletries and a pair of bootees or old runners. Beginner surfing takes place in shallow white water, and is safe for non-swimmers. This is a very popular activity, and takes about 3 hours from start to finish.*

Cliffjump

Rougey Cliffs are the location for an exhilarating plunge into the ocean. Carefully attended by lifeguards at either end of the jump, it is a great confidence-building activity and one of the most popular with young people. Wetsuits are provided, bring togs, towel, toiletries and old runners. Cliff jump takes about 3 hours*

Kayak/Canoeing

A beginner lesson in paddling on local lakes is a good choice for smaller groups who have plenty of time. Wetsuits, buoyancy aids and instructors are provided. This activity takes between 3-4 hours.*

Curragh Building

Great fun for small groups- teams of 4 build their own curragh from provided materials, transport it to the water and see whose boat lasts longest. This activity takes about 2 hours

Lifeguarded Swim

A visit to the beach in the company of our own surf lifeguards, - ensuring a safe swim for all. Wetsuits are optional. 2 hours approx.*

 

Snorkel Treasure Hunt

A treasure hunt with a difference- the clues are underwater! A fun activity including learning to use mask & goggles properly, and treasure-hunt game in Bundoran’s outdoor seawater pool.  3 hours approx *

Land Activities

Heroes Challenge

Our heroes field has a range of outdoor challenges, tasks and problems which need to be navigated by our teams. This is a great activity for ice-breaking, team-building, and general fun. It can get a little messy, old clothes & runners are advised. This is suitable for large or small groups and takes approx 3 hours.

Archery

A very easy activity with basic instruction and some fun using a bow and arrow. Indoors, approx 1 hour.

Climbing

Harnesses & helmets required to attack our 40ft high climbing tower. The tower has a range of climbing routes, from easy to challenging. Maximum of two climbers at one time, but students can also learn to belay. This is suitable for small motivated groups, and does involves some waiting. From 1-2 hours.

 

The Expedition

Students help plan the route and supplies for a half day hike into the heart of Ben Bulben. The students will be rewarded with stunning scenery & a real sense of achievement. Suitable for all fitness level and abilities.

 

Abseil Tower

Descending from the climbing tower is also a high-adrenaline activity involving harnesses and helmets. Climbing and abseiling can be combined as an activity, or done separately. From 1-2 hours

 

Balance Beams & High wire.

 

Jacobs Ladder  Trapeze  Zip Wire  All Aboard

These are all separate challenges on our High Ropes Course. These are high-adrenaline activities for smaller groups or residential students, and are excellent for confidence building and teamwork. Each challenge takes from about 1-2 hours.

 

Night Line

One of the most popular and fun activities- suitable for all ages and levels. Blindfolded and following the leader through a series of surprises, expect to get muddy and wet. Lots of fun.

 

Extreme Night Line – The daddy of all nightlines, conducted in the dark at a nearby forest. Residentials only.

 

Escape

This is a half-day themed team event involving climbing, problem solving and other tasks. Ideal for icebreaking, team building and bonding. It is not necessary for everyone to do the physical tasks, so it is a good choice for groups of mixed ability and excellent for combining different skills within a team to achieve results.

 

Low Ropes

All the fun of the balance beams and tightropes without the need for harnesses as well as the challenge wall and porthole team games.  

 

Icebreaker Games

Simple and easy games to get everyone relaxed, comfortable and into the right frame of mind for some fun.

 

Rock Aerobics Fitness Class

A 1.5 hour indoor fitness class including cardio, floor work, stretches, yoga and relaxation. Beginner level, popular with female groups.
